PPS Investments reported that it has paid more claims in 2021, than in its 80 years of existence. The Group said it had paid out R6.14 billion in benefit pay-outs and valid claims to members in 2021. This represents a 27% increase from 2020. Its long-term insurance risk claims amounted to R4.3 billion in 2021, up 38% on the R3.12 billion in 2020. Included in this, more than 11 700 were Covid-19-related claims to the value of R1.4 billion. PPS concluded that its mission remains to provide “…exceptional insurance benefits and range of financial services” to its members and their families.
