Sasria ran a print ad to promote its cover. The ad stated that it is the only insurer in South Africa that insures against civil unrest. According to Sasria, it has now paid over R24 billion in claims, approximately 80% of all lodged claims from the civil unrest of July 2021. Sasria has urged clients that were affected, to submit their outstanding paperwork, so their claims can be finalised, as there are about R7 billion worth of outstanding cases. Sasria said that once these claims have been finalised, it can focus on risk planning. The unfortunate events have proven that Sasria is agile and able to handle events similar to the July 2021 civil unrest, in future.
