Discovery Life revealed that more than 54% of its severe illness claims were from women, for cancer in 2020, from its 2021 life claims statistics. These were followed by claims for conditions of the nervous system, totalling around 15% of severe illness claims, during the 2020 period. Discovery said that there has been a significant decline in the proportion of female deaths resulting from cancer, stressing the importance of screening for early detection. Discovery said it’s imperative for all women to consider comprehensive life insurance cover, to provide financial security that gives peace of mind to the whole family.
