Old Mutual reported favourable financial results for the year ending December 2021. The value of new business jumped 109%, the insurer recorded adjusted headline earnings of R5.4 billion compared to R2.48 billion in 2020. Profits from operations also more than doubled to R4.4 billion. Sales in its Personal Finance and Wealth Management businesses exceeded 2019 levels. Old Mutual’s CEO said its focus for 2022 is to continue putting its customers first, while consolidating and simplifying systems and processes that remain a barrier to building an agile business.
