In an interview with Cover magazine, Sanlam spoke about the importance of having an income protection policy. In the interview, Sanlam explained that they had seen a large increase in claims and paid R29.25 million in sickness claims for people being booked off with Covid-19 in 2020. Sanlam stated that the pandemic has put income protection in the spotlight because people need to have cover in place, if they are booked off work for long periods of time due to sickness.
