Old Mutual Insure wrote an article in the light of Global Road Safety Week, which took place from 13-17 May 2022. The company said the main obstacles to road safety are uninsured, underinsured and unroadworthy vehicles on the roads. According to Old Mutual, out of the estimated 11 million car and drivers on the country’s roads, 3.5 million are insured. This is worrying, as road incidents are almost exactly back to pre-Covid-19 levels, which could translate to higher premiums. The company provided tips on how people can take charge of their safety on the road.
